The majesty of the Marmolada cannot be described in words: you have to see it to believe it and only then will you comprehend the fascination of the highest mountain in the Dolomites that at 3342 metres dominates over Rocca Pietore and the whole of Agordino.
Ascension of the Marmolada is with the cable car, from Malga Ciapela with the opportunity to descend to Serauta (where you can find the Museum of the Great War) or at Punta Rocca at 3270 m: and from here there is a 12 km descent on skis.
Malga Ciapela is also linked to Arabba by the lifts. The Marmolada is also the kingdom of summer skiing, infinite excursions and the most surprising natural beauty, like the Serrai di Sottoguda; a deep gorge that extends for 2 km at the foot of the glacier. The hamlet of Sottoguda is also an important centre for wrought iron.
At Marmolada, there is tourist accommodation available in hotels, farm holiday, farmhouse, residence self-catering accommodation, mountain chalets, b&b, rooms for rent, holiday homes, camp sites and tourist villages.
