The Regional Natural Park of Lessinia spreads out for more than ten thousand hectares on the Lessinia Mountains plateau, North of Verona, up to the border of the Trento Province. Its area is characterized by the alternation of hornbeam, beech and Norway spruce woods, meadows, pastures and spectacular structures of Karstic origin, unequalled in Europe, such as the bridge Ponte di Veja, the abyss Spluga della Preta, the Covolo di Camposilvano and the "town of rocks" in Valle delle Sfingi.Crossed by five deep valleys fanning out from the North, the Regional Natural Park of Lessinia treasures a large number of historical, archaeological and naturalistic findings of inestimable value. Student-bodies and families, adults and children have today at their disposal a large network of beaten tracks to be covered on foot, on horseback or by bike. A centre for environmental education and a system of seven museums, keeping important findings which are expression of the paleontological, prehistorical, botanical, ethnographical peculiarities of Lessinia are available. The richness of historical, archaeological and naturalistic finds makes the Regional Natural Park of Lessinia a unique destination for every tourist in search of a genuine contact with nature and with the mountains'ancient way of life.
Lanscape, architecture and art - Lessinia is rich of original architectural findings. The residential complexes called "contrade" represent a characteristical example of the stone architecture Cimbrian people built by using the materials found in the site. Ancient contrade and malghe, recently renovated, can be visited on the whole territory of the Park. By the Lessinia contrade and along the paths, many sculptures and sacral images express the devotional popular art.
