The little town of Montecchio Maggiore is located in the plains of the Veneto region, in an area bordered to the west by the Lessini Mountains and to the south-east by the Berici Hills.
The Montecchio Maggiore, can boast the presence of architectural treasures of great interest: the Cordellina-Lombardi Villa, built in 1735 in Palladian style and decorated with frescoes by Gian Battista Tiepolo and with sculptures from the Paduan workshop of the Bonazza family; the Castles of Romeo and Juliet, from the Scagliera epoch, constructed on top of pre-existent, probably Roman, fortifications; and numerous other places of architectural interest positioned around the municipal territory.
